These plants produce traditional looking and tasting jalapeños: thick walled, with moderate heat, and lots of flavor. Allow 65 days from transplanting to first harvest of green peppers. 5000 on the Scoville scale.

Seed peppers in flats or cell trays 1/4”deep 8 weeks before last frost (seed late March to mid-April). Pepper seeds are slow to germinate, especially in cool soil, so keep soil moist and be patient. If need be, transplant to cells or pots after seedlings develop true leaves. Transplant 18”-24” apart when days are warm and there is no longer any risk of frost (ideally avoiding night temperatures below 7 degrees Celsius). Staking or support is not needed.
